Elissa Fonseca

Instructor


A native of Pleasant Grove, UT, Elissa began her dance training locally studying a variety of styles of dance with a focus in classical ballet. At 15, she joined Utah Regional Ballet 2 and performed for 3 seasons under the direction of Jacqueline College.
Elissa studied ballet at the University of Utah from 2010-2014 where she received her BFA in Ballet and Minor in Psychology, all while under 4 years of full-tuition departmental scholarship. Elissa has performed internationally in Moscow, Russia, and Seoul South Korea as part of dance-culture exchange programs, as well as throughout the United States. Elissa has trained under full scholarship at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance summer programs for 2 years under the direction of Summer Lee Rhatigan, and has also trained with members of classical and contemporary companies including Lines Ballet Company, Batsheva Dance Company, Joffrey Ballet, The Forsythe Company, The Foundry, Atlanta Ballet, and Ballet West.
Elissa is currently performing in her third season with local company SALT Contemporary Dance, and has taught at various studios in Salt Lake and Utah Valley, and is currently on faculty for her third year at Aspire Dance Academy and second year at Pioneer Performing Arts High School.

Stephanie Haymore

Instructor


Stephanie trained at Classical Ballet Conservatory, Academy of Ballet and Taylor Dance Conservatory. At Academy of Ballet and Taylor Dance Conservatory she performed with the company, including soloist roles in Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Stephanie graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in dance with a ballet emphasis. While attending BYU, she received a dance scholarship and was a member of Ballet Showcase Company. She performed and toured with the company. As a student Stephanie received an ORCA grant and awards for her choreography. Her senior piece was the first student piece to be performed in the main ballet company's performance and was also taken on tour to California. Stephanie has taught ballet for 10 years, including at BYU. She has also choreographed for BYU's Ballet Showcase Company and BYU's operas HMS Pinafore and Don Giovanni. She was the studio director for the former Timpanogos School of Dance. Stephanie currently resides in Orem with her husband Joseph and their four children who are all dancing!

Lindsay Cowley

Instructor


Lindsay started dancing when she was three years old and has loved dancing and performing ever since. Growing up she mainly studied Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary with additional training in Tap, Hip hop, Modern and various other styles. Throughout the years, she has performed as a principal dancer in many pre-professional performances including excerpts from Swan Lake, Giselle, Nutcracker, and various other contemporary and classical excerpts. She is currently attending UVU studying Ballet and Dance Education. She has a passion for teaching dance and loves creating relationships with her students.

Jennifer Cowley

Instructor


Jennifer started dancing at the age of three, studying Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and many other genres of dance, in addition to several years of tumbling and competitive cheerleading. After graduating, she continued on to Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Wellness with a Contemporary Dance minor. While at BYU she had the opportunity to be part of several performing companies including: Ballet Showcase, DancEnsemble Contemporary Company, International Folk Dance Ensemble and Kinnect. She also performed as a guest artist in the Opera “Hansel and Gretel” in 2015, and Theatre Ballet’s production of “Alice in Wonderland” in 2016. In 2014, she participated in a dance study abroad in Italy, which involved daily classes at places such as La Scala School of Ballet, Hamlyn School of Ballet, and World Dance Movement Intensive.

Since her first teaching position in 2011, Jennifer has grown to love working with, and training students. She is certified in advanced Pilates, and has worked at Elevate Fitness and rehab, studying functional training through NASM and ACSM. She has a strong background in Dance Kinesiology and Health through school, and continues to learn what she can about the art form.

Ginger Leishman

Instructor


Ginger began her dance training at the age of three from numerous studios including Center Stage and the Dance Club. She also trained in the Royal Academy of Dance where she received high merits and distinction in each level from Pre-Primary through Advanced Two. At age fourteen Ginger began her training with Jennie Creer-King at Classical Ballet Academy where she was able to work with many incredible teachers and choreographers including Attila Ficzere, Victor Plotnikov, and Romi Beppu. At Classical Ballet Academy she danced the role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel in 2007 and 2008 as well as Snow Queen, Spanish, and Chinese in the Nutcracker.

Ginger received her BFA in Ballet with emphases in Performance, Teaching, and Character Dance from the University of Utah in 2013. During her time at the University of Utah she was a member of Utah Ballet and Character Dance Ensemble, which provided her with the incredible experience of working with world renowned choreographers as well as training and performing in San José, Costa Rica; Kiev, Ukraine; and Seoul, Korea while representing the Ballet Department. She performed and choreographed in most of the student concerts for both the Ballet and Modern departments and was awarded departmental scholarships for each semester at the University.

After Graduating, Ginger traveled the world dancing for Disney Cruise Lines on the Disney Wonder. She performed various roles including the Lion King Pas De Deux dancer, a Cinderella Waltz dancer, an Aladdin Harem dancer, a Ribbon dancer for Pocahontas, and a Spanish Web dancer as one of Tarzan’s monkeys.

As Miss Spanish Fork 2009, Ginger promoted and raised money for Art Programs in local schools with her outreach program, Excelling with the Fine Arts. She continues to stay involved in the community by promoting, choreographing, and performing in local concerts, festivals, and musicals. She is also the Dance Coach for Nebo Gymnastics where she has choreographed state winning floor routines for the past ten years.

Ginger married her best friend, Lane Leishman, on March 18th 2016 and is grateful for all of his love and encouragement as she pursues each new dance endeavor that comes her way. Ginger has taught at many studios throughout Utah including Park City Dance Academy, Salt Lake City Ballet, and Ballet West Academy and is excited to be teaching at Aspire this year.
